Kayla Martell, a victim of alopecia since age 10, was crowned Miss Delaware June 12th 2010. At that time a 21 year old college student made no secret of the challenges she has faced without hair through her teens and early twenties.  Kayla said "I hope that my legacy will be that I have touched as many lives as possible" rather than hide the fact, she made a point of it during her oral presentation prior to being crowned Miss Delaware.
